Description
Enamel Butterfly Powder Compact by Stratton, England and a rare item.
This fabulous enamel powder compact has 2 butterflies on the lid. The enamel is dark brown in colour and the butterflies are yellow, brown and black on a silver plated metal. This piece was patented and reflects the Patent No 764125 which would indicate 1955.
The mirror has a small section of moisture damage at the top where the silver backing has come away. The original ‘silver plated’ label is still attached to the mirror. The enamel work is perfect with no chips or cracks. It’s quite large by normal compact standards, mesuring 8.5cm in diameter.
A Stratton compact collector would love this piece!
