Emerald cut Green Tourmaline Pendant in 9ct Gold

Description

This green tourmaline pendant is set in 9ct gold and is fully hallmarked with a Birmingham date mark for 1964 at the back.

The stone is an emerald cut tourmaline and has a lovely crispness to it’s colour and clarity. This shade of green borders on an olive colour. Tourmaline are hard, durable stones and are said to promote healing, growth and vitality.

The stone measures 8mm x 5mm and is set within a rectangular bezel mounted on a solid gold vertical bar. The total dimensions are 28mm x 15mm excluding the bale and 35mm in length including the bale. The textured setting is very typical of the 1960’s period that carried through to the 70’s. The bale also carries the 9ct stamp and the pendant hangs from a fine 9ct gold chain which is 48cm in length (16”).
